Rocket to the moon

Today we sang:

I said a boom chicka boom, I said a boom chicka boom….boom we took a rocket, took a rocket , to the moon!

Space travel day!  IMG_0181We blasted off in our special classroom rocket,IMG_0183 read a nice story about a boy dreaming of Apollo 11 and our first moon walk by Mark Haddon

foot prints on the moon

and then we had our own moon walk when we headed into to our very  own digital planetarium where I had the moonscape projected. We were able to look back on Earth and see it go through it’s phases.  We rocketed back to Earth and then looked back at the moon and looked at it’s phases.

At the end of this program we made our own straw launching rockets:  It was a blast!! (hee hee)IMG_0188
