Animal Trick or Treat Party

Despite the biggest coastal trick of the day–our super tides, which caused the 10 am program to cancel because the road was super flooded; we had a few that could make it in for the 11 am to celebrate Halloween with our annual  animal trick or treat. Have you ever wondered which animals have a sweet tooth?  Opossums, donkeys and pigs do.  Cats like lactose sugars: creams, milk, cheese.  Wolves and Fox love marshmallows.  It is nice to know that we are not the only animals in the kingdom that have a sweet tooth.  We talked about how fun Halloween is because we get to use our imaginations and dress up.  We talked about pumpkins and did a little fingerplay about jack o lantern emotions.  We ended our fun day with a little Halloween party with bat pretzels, ghost juice (milk) and banana ghosts. And then we made our own jack o lantern banners.

Meanwhile, during our party, Shanti wanted a treat, but all he received was a trick:

Shanti loves water

He didn’t mind though. He loves to play in water!
