Seasons Change

We celebrated the fall equinox inside our digital planetarium and star theater and learned this one important thing:  Seasons change and it is all about the sun!  We rotated, and revolved and spun around the classroom.  We went up and down, like the sun in the sky. We sang one of my favorite tunes “oh mr. sun, sun, mr. golden  sun, won’t you please shine down on me!”

We watched the sunrise, and sunset inside the digitarium, learning all about day length, and we watched the sun move on the horizon south and north to mark the spot where it rises and sets at different seasons in the year.  Fall is fantastic. Leaves change, animals migrate, and pumpkins are on the vine. Just remember, it is all about the tilt of the earth and our path around the sun!  In honor of the power of the sun, we made sun- sun catchers!
