That Pig Has Talent

We celebrated Pigs last week with songs, games and stories.  We read a story named Little Oink by Amy Krouse Rosenthal about a piglet that hated making a mess.

We learned that pigs aren’t really messy.  Our pig Streaker keeps her waste in one corner and her bed nice and tidy.  She even decorates it during the holidays with her very own Christmas Tree (…you will just have to trust me on that one…).  The mud thing is quite practical.. keeps them cool and keeps bugs away!

We walked over to our pig’s pen as a class and gave our girl her breakfast.  We learned that she isn’t a pig at all, at her size she is a hog!

She even showed us a few tricks such as sit down and turn around.  What a smart pig. We didn’t make a craft, but we did receive pig finger puppets to recite our little rhyme 2 mother pigs.
