Big, Burly Bison


Oh give me a home….where the buffalo roam.  Did you know that they use to roam all over Georgia?  Well, not exactly here on the coast, but inland and upward of the state.

It was bison day.    You know why bison have a hump?  Ever tried to pick up this skull?  It takes a  lot of muscle as we found out first handedly:

We learned a lot more about bison and then made our own bison heads. These are chia pets made with grass seed, soil, nylon stockings for the head, pipe cleaners for the horns and googly eyes.  In a few days we will see what bison think about grasslands!

At the end we stotted over to the bison with some browse and gave them a treat.  Want to see how they felt about it?
