That Awesome Possum

Did you know that when a momma opossum gives birth her entire litter fits into a teaspoon.  Those little babies pull themselves through her belly hair and move into that unusual resting space to nurse and grow big and strong…yep the opossum has a pouch.  It was marsupial day at Toddler Tuesday.  We learned all about that awesome possum.  We even sang the sweet p song in honor of our recently deceased Petunia. RIP Sweet Petunia.   She was an old girl at a ripe ole age of 4 years (that is all they get, those poor possums).  We had a visit from our juvenile Tulip who was showing off her youthfulness.

To end the possum party we made pouches and baby possums to fill it with.  It was a fine motor activity sewing up those pouches. Check out these proud mammas.
