Popsicles with the Pack

Standard

We had a special treat this past Toddler Tuesday.   We walked to Wolf  Wilderness and watched wolf enrichment.  Our pack was given chewy ice and frozen blood popsicles.  It wasn’t terribly hot out; but it gave us an opportunity to see pack dynamics up close.  Now, you can’t neglect any pack member from a good treat (or there is sure to be some fighting), so I gave my pack homemade popsicles from Motts for Tots mixed berry juice.  We shared a lovely morning eating our delicious, refreshing treat while watching the wolves–wolf down their popsicles!  We learned about wolf hierarchy (yes, my little tots learned alpha, beta and omega) from a song that I sang with my banjo.  I’ll record it soon and add it to the post later…

Here is a moment…alpha wolf and omega wolf sharing some crunchy ice and not a growl between them (that we could tell.)

We sure do have a good time at Toddler Tuesday.  If you haven’t come yet…your missing out!
