Weather Wonderland–October 1st

It was a gorgeous day at Oatland Island to study the weather in Toddler Tuesday.  Not a cloud in the sky, and hardly a wisp of wind; so we made our own.  The temperature was in the mid 70’s; the perfect October weather day!

Learning about the weather, we played with chalk on black construction paper and drew clouds and then with a damp cotton ball made the clouds rain out and disappear.  We watched a cloud form in a bottle, we made wind with straws and blew leaves around the classroom.

We read about the little cumulus Cloudette with prodigious precipitation in the book Cloudette:

To chime in the weather we made homemade wind chimes and sun catchers.  It was a great group of friends on a great weather day here at Oatland Island.
