She Sells SeaShells

Last Tuesday we studied shelled creatures. Mostly the type that live in the sea. We learned the difference between snails and clams and did some shell sorting. We learned about spirals and made a few with string.

We read Clementine clementine
It is a cute story about a snail that loves all things round (like his shell) and desperately wanted to make it to the moon to glide all over a round object. Alas, as he made it into Earth’s orbit he looked back to find that the Earth, his home that he slid around on was… ROUND!

We made our own snails for a craft to take home and play with as a puppet or, simply to stick in the garden for decoration.

It was a swell time with Michelle studying shells!
