eARTh day creativity

There is no better way to celebrate Earth day than Toddler Tuesday style. This was one of my favorite classes yet. First we learned how to sign “earth”or “world” and then had a jolly time playing “universe ball”. It is amazing how much fun the wee ones have with a blanket and a beach ball. We rolled the beach ball earth around on the black table cloth by having all the little hands holding onto the edges of the blanket and lifting and lowering it. We even made some turbulence in the Universe and had that Earth bouncing up and down.

We read a few good stories:

We finished class by making a collective Earth ARt Piece using natural objects.

We talked about how Earth ARt doesn’t last forever; unless we pour it in concrete…which we did! We made a design with natural objects in the bottom of a pizza box; and then poured concrete to make stepping stones for their home gardens:

They all came out lovely. It was a a splendid way to celebrate the Earth!
